Dr. Kevin Mikalaitis
Dr. Kevin Mikalaitis was born and raised in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. While attending the University of Delaware, Dr. Mikalaitis interned at a local chiropractic center which ignited his passion for chiropractic. Dr. Mikalaitis ultimately pursued that passion and earned a Doctorate from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 2005.
Dr. Mikalaitis is a hands-on adjuster and primarily practices the Palmer Method which consists of a variety of Manual Adjusting Techniques, including: Diversified, Toggle Recoil, and Thompson Drop. In addition, he also practices gentler techniques including: Flexion-Distraction, Trigger Point Therapy and the Activator Method, specifically catering each treatment to the individual needs and goals of each patient. Dr. Mikalaitis is also the only chiropractor in Longmont certified in Active Release Technique (ART) a highly effective, cutting-edge soft tissue treatment. As your Chiropractor, Dr. Mikalaitis will get to know you as a patient to get a complete picture of your health. This focus on understanding not only the symptoms, but also the underlying cause of your health issues means you receive the individual attention and tailor-made health care you deserve. Dr. Mikalaitis frequently attends continuing education programs which enable him to stay current on the latest, most innovative chiropractic methods in use today.
Dr. Mikalaitis enjoys sports (especially English Premier League soccer), traveling and spending time with his family. He and his wife Mercedes are the proud owners of Align Chiropractic Center in Longmont, CO.
Mercedes Mikalaitis, Office/Billing Manager
Mercedes has a BA in International Relations and has been the Office and Billing Manager at Align Chiropractic since they opened in 2007. She is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the office as well as handling all of the insurance billing. If you ever have any questions about insurance or paperwork she will be glad to assist you. Her highest priority is making your experience in our office truly exceptional! Mercedes is passionate about chiropractic and loves getting to see patients from 2 weeks old to 92 years benefit from care. She considers the patients part of her “Chiropractic family”. When Mercedes is not in the office, she enjoys playing soccer, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Dawn Fetterley, Medical Massage
Originally from Michigan, Dawn earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Western Michigan University which provided a solid background in physiology and pathology. She continued her education at Boulder College of Massage Therapy. An honors graduate, her studies there focused on therapeutic and rehabilitative techniques including deep tissue therapy, muscle energy technniques, sports massage, and manual lymph drainage. Dawn is an Advanced Myoskeletal Therapist certified by the Freedom from Pain Institute, and is also a Medical Massage Practitioner certified by Bodywork Education Inc. The combination of these therapies focuses on proper assessment of a person’s condition, realigning the spine and joints through non-abrupt soft tissue manipulation, and stretching or activating tissue as a means to regain proper balance and function. In addition, Dawn is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. This program ensures the highest standards in massage therapy, continuing education, and ethical standards.
With over 15 years of professional experience, Dawn has worked extensively and successfully with problematic issues, such as whiplash, headache/migraine, sciatica, ‘frozen’ shoulder, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Dawn’s ultimate treatment goals are to assist clients with regaining physical balance, strength and function.
Naomi Rabinowitz, MD, Natural Medicine and Acupuncture
Dr. Rabinowitz is a graduate of SUNY-Downstate Medical School. She did her post graduate training at Beth Israel Hospital in New York. Training in Traditional Chinese Medicine was acquired by apprenticeship, including working six years at the world-renowned acupuncture facility at Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx. At Lincoln, she was one of the founding members of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. She has been in private practice since 1986. Her credentials include: NYS license to practice Medicine and Surgery, NYS certification to practice Acupuncture, and NCCA (National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists) diplomate certification. Dr. Rabinowitz did pioneering work using Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Currently she is particularly interested in treating women’s gynecological and fertility issues including menopause. Healthy Aging is a new area of focus. In her general practice she treats a wide variety of general medical problems that include arthritis, sports injuries, asthma, stress-related syndromes, headache, carpal tunnel, etc.
